Subsequent to the break up between Star Trek’s Zachary Quinto and his long term boyfriend Jonathan Groff, the pair have remained good friends. The romance ended quietly and the pair parted amicably in January 2013. In July of the same year, the duo were spotted walking their gorgeous pooches in Los Feliz California. They were spotted laughing as they exercised with their dogs. Zachary Quinto revealed his sexuality in October 2011 and soon after than started dating the Glee star, Jonathan Groff but only going public about their relationship the following year.

In 2014 Zachary Quinto reunited with two exes Jonathan Groff and Jesse Tyler Ferguson for a performance at the Public Theatres Manhattan Gala. They sang songs from Chorus Line and the show was dubbed a “thrilling combination”
Jonathan Groff raised to prominence with the lead role of Melchior Gabor in 2006 in the Broadway classic Spring Awakening. He was subsequently nominated with a Tony award for Best Actor in a Musical. In 2015 he returned back to Broadway to perform in King George III in Hamilton and this once again earned him another Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Musical.
Jonathan Groff publicly came out in October 2009 and has been an active voice for the Lesbian and Gay Community. In 2010 he was a target for in a highly controversial article by Ramin Setoodeh who debated that a gay actor was incapable of playing a straight character in a convincing manner. This article received massive backlash with loads of public figures including Jonathan Groff, who defended Hayes, Groffs, and Harris performance as straight characters decrying it as homophobic.
Jonathan Groff has taken many projects on screen and on stage touching on the issue of same sex marriages. With his many years of active voice for the gay community and the recent events with the supreme court legalizing same sex marriages, Groff stated that his immediate thoughts went to the years of activism which culminated this event.
“I didn’t expect to be as genuinely emotional and excited about being an American as I am today,” he said. “I just feel so grateful to all of the activists. I’m benefiting from the decades of turmoil and frustration and work that has been done on my behalf. Now it’s official, and it’s mind-blowing to me.”
Jonathan Groff is excited with the social change which is transforming the entertainment industry chronicling the real world events. “I think of ‘Looking’ as more of a reflection of what’s happening,” he said. “For my money, the activists who have been fighting so hard for decades for this legislation, those people are the real heroes.”
